Fresh Find #1 - Something new to do

A day of seaside and seafood adventure

Whoever said kayaking is just for summer? Get out on the water on Sunday 13 July with Glenworth Valley Wilderness Adventures and head out on a seafood and seaside loving adventure. Suitable for ages 12 and up and seafood lovers of course, this 5-hour guided kayaking experience will take you on a leisurely tour through the magnificent waterways of Brisbane Waters and Woy Woy Bay.

Starting from Woy Woy, jump into a double kayak and explore the calm waters that cusp the coast. On your travels, glide through local oyster farms and spot marine animals as they pass you by. After all that paddling, the best bit has been saved for the end – a delicious platter of local and fresh seafood waiting for you. Finish the tour at a secluded beach and enjoy a seafood picnic with your friends, indulging in local oysters and fresh Tiger prawns, and a side of crispy crackers, flavoursome dip and oh-so creamy soft cheeses. Glenworth Valley Wilderness Adventures is known for their action-packed tours and experiences, so why not add this one to your list? Book for Sunday 13 July and don’t wait because spots are limited.

Fresh Find #2 - New places to eat & drink

A place to share, sip and savour

Terrigal’s newest restaurant, Amarilla is a love letter to the bold and robust flavours of Spain. Whilst the dedicated team at beloved Yellowtail have closed one chapter, another has opened. The crew have given waterfront Haven Beach Kiosk a new lease on life, turning it into a Spanish-style tapas restaurant and serving seaside views and even better food.

From 10 July, this new venue will be concocting succulent and moreish share plates – think seared scallops, cheese croquettes, basque style chorizo, and of course, dulce de leche sundae with churros as the night ends. Their crafted menu is an homage to the taste of the Iberian Peninsula, spanning across Spain and Portugal, with their touches of olive oil, garlic, paprika and saffron in their dishes. When you visit, the beautifully paired Spanish-inspired cocktails and handpicked wines will also be calling your name, so be ready for a night of sharing, savouring and Spanish flavours.

Fresh Find #3 - New maker & creator to explore

Soaps and balms sweet as a honeybee

A passion for the outdoors, a love for beekeeping and a desire to create sustainable and organic skincare products is what started Rumbalara Bees. Local creator, Heidi, crafts an immaculate range of soaps from lavender and honey to soothe the spirit and eucalyptus, green clay and honey to awaken your senses. Heal dry and cracked lips with their lip balm made from coconut oil, pure beeswax and natural vitamin E or shop their collection of handmade pure beeswax candles to fill your home with the subtle, yet sweet scent of honey. If you’re looking to be more sustainable in the kitchen, don’t look past their beeswax food wraps, perfect for food storage.

This small, yet mighty family-owned business run by fellow beekeeper Heidi, began with her love for getting out in nature and discovering the wild population of native honeybees that called Rumbalara Reserve bushland, home. Once she came across this discovery, she began making bee hotels from drilled wood and bamboo, and the rest was history. From here, her already-found passion for making natural soaps and lip balms for her family, and love for bees came together, bringing a range of natural soaps, lip balms, beeswax candles and beeswax wraps to life. If you love Rumbalara Bees’ mission, make sure to keep up to date with their latest collections and when they’re holding their next market stall.
