1. Gift a mix of sweet treats

Chocolates are a classic choice for V-Day. We’re lucky enough to have two chocolate factories on the Central Coast, each with their own unique suite of treats. In West Gosford visit The Chocolate and Nougat Factory to build your own box of 13 Bon-Bon fine chocolates in a special Heart Tin, or grab a Valentine’s Day Hamper featuring nougat, chocolate, marshmallow and rocky road – all beautifully wrapped and ribboned in store. In the north, visit Luka Chocolates at Wyong Milk Factory, with a collection inspired by Belgian chocolate making using locally sourced ingredients such as fresh cream, organic honey, 100% pure fruit juices, nuts, fruits and spices. You simply need to pop in and pick your lover’s favourite flavours, they will do the rest.

2. Get all squishy and romantic

What do you do if you want to show someone you care, but have no idea what they like? Probably get to know them a little better… then of course you gift them with some gorgeous mini white chocolate coated marshmallow hearts! These handmade treats are available in packs of three from The Marshmallow Co. in the heart of Wyong. Just like your undying love, they are limited edition and can be pre-ordered on their website, along with their ‘Netflix & Mallow Box’, caramel mallow hearts, mallow drink toppers, mallow toasting sticks…

3. Spoil someone with a luxury retreat

Hinterland based accommodation Noonaweena (meaning ‘resting place in the bush’), has recently launched its Romance Package, which features a two night luxury stay in one of their bushland suites at Kulnura. This means cocktails on arrival, a gourmet breakfast hamper, French Champagne, chocolates, a succulent fresh seafood platter sourced from local Woy Woy Fisherman’s Wharf – and even late check out at 3pm.

4. Flowers, posies and roses…

If there’s ever a time to invest in buying fresh flowers, it’s the 14th of February! The Coast has a beautiful array of florists popping up locally, each with their own creative touch to crafting truly amazing blooms. Browse one of many local floral businesses for your Valentine’s bouquet and heartfelt card, including Rowsie Lane at Long Jetty, The Petal Sisters at Kincumber. But be swift – there’s a limited supply and preorders of pretty posies are essential.

5. Romantic dining on the Bouddi Peninsula

Bells at Killcare is a luxurious five-star retreat with beautiful cottages, suites and villas set against the backdrop of Bouddi National Park. With manicured gardens, a sparkling pool, day spa and award-winning restaurant, it’s the ultimate getaway for couples to relax and unwind. And this year for Valentine’s Day their restaurant, The Wildflower, is offering a romantic Sunday four-course tasting menu with a welcome Bellini on arrival and a posie to take home. Don’t miss booking ahead for a spot!

6. Glow your own way

A classic pamper session in the form of a perfectly timed gift card could be just the thing your partner needs this month. Glow Beauty Space at Wamberal is all about feeling pretty, inside and out, with a beautifully designed salon showcasing this vision well! During a visit guests can even enjoy a fresh coffee, tea or smoothie hand-delivered from the café across the street, best enjoyed in the salon’s sunlit outdoor courtyard.

7. Enjoy a cold one with your loved one

Not all of us enjoy soppy love notes and candlelit dinners – we prefer a fresh schooner of locally brewed beer and a side of hot chips and top-notch company. Spend Valentines with your loved one(s) at one of the Central Coast’s local taprooms, such as Six String Brewing at Erina, who recently launched their limited edition Raspberry Riff Berliner Weisse beer. Now that’s romance canned, perfect for the casual lovers out there. For couples avid about their ales, there’s also the opportunity to book a brewery tour. The Bavarian at Tuggerah will also be open for Valentine’s lunch and dinner, complete with steins of beer big enough to share.

8. Pick and Mix boutique wine boxes

Online boutique wine shop, Upstairs Wines at Kincumber, is now kindly offering same day delivery for all local orders placed before 1pm, between Monday to Friday, from Woy Woy to Long Jetty on the Coast. This is great news for Valentines shoppers keen to support local businesses, as ordering one of their popular Mystery Boxes as a gift has never been easier.

9. Suck up the romance with global fusion dining for two

At Wamberal you will find one of the region’s fine dining venues with a global fusion menu –  Suq Restaurant. For V-Day, their chef has prepared a wonderful 6 course menu of share plates for $90pp, featuring a glass of sparkling wine on arrival. We don’t want to spoilt the surprise, but the menu includes such delights as house-made duck liver pâté, tuna sashimi, arancini of wild mushrooms, a selection of sorbets and more…

10. Rose-tinted gift boxes delivered direct

This is the perfect solution for the last minute fellas. Newly launched Central Coast curated gifts company, Claya, are offering an assortment of eco-friendly, pre-packaged Valentines boxes that can be delivered directly to your partner’s doorstep – they will even handwrite a heartfelt note for you. Claya’s rose-themed boxes feature gorgeous items such rose gold jewellery studs, rose quartz candles, wild rose chocolates, linen robes and more. How’s that for a last-minute miracle? Check out their ‘Galentines Day’ themed box, featuring dried and preserved foliage and beauty items that will be a joy to unwrap alongside brekky in bed (hint, hint).

12. Spend V-Day at the local market

For a feel-good support local experience on Valentine’s Day, which falls on a Sunday this year, visit the Central Coast’s markets at Davistown Waterfront. Makers and creators will be present with a variety of unique stalls on the day selling their handmade wares, including florists Posy & Palm and Crown & Anchor leather craftsmen, who produce great gifts for men (because is for spoiling the lads too!).

11. For couples who love caffeine

If your partner has a palate trained for only the finest coffee, try gifting them with a bag of locally roasted beans from Legend Coffee & Culture. Based at West Gosford, these guys source, roast, grind and cup all their beans in house to ensure a quality brew. They have a signature ‘Gossy’ espresso blend, but it’s the pretty packaging aesthetic that makes this an ideal gift for the coffee lover in your life. Either grab a gift voucher online, or pop in and pick up some fresh beans personally. Why not make a date of it? You can enjoy their epic stuffed toasties, such as the Hammy Dayz, Mush City, or the ‘Keith’ cheesy option.

Celebrate and indulge on Valentines together with a specially crafted grazing box from A’Grazing Deco. Their ‘Sweet Heart’ box ($65pp) is packed full of colourful, homemade goodies built on a bed of loaded rocky road and thick, Belgian waffles, layered with cookies, petite cupcakes plus a bottle of bubbly...! While their perfectly apt ‘Brie Mine’ box ($70pp) is packed with gourmet deli selections and antipasto. Forage and Feast Platters are also a Central Coast based small business who can adapt their deliveries to any occasion – with personalised foodie surprises designed to delight being their specialty. Brie quick to preorder your feast for two, as #platterlust is a real thing.
