If you want to learn something new, while having fun, there are number of businesses on the Central Coast offering a variety of workshops. From painting, floral design, blacksmithing, dancing and drama, this is your chance to gather your family and friends, and experience something a little bit different.

If your kids want to learn all about the performing arts in a theatre that’s hosted famous comedian and artist Anh Do and Bangarra Dance Theatre, then sign them up for a workshop at The Art House. The award-winning Wyong theatre runs workshops with touring theatre, dance and music companies so primary and secondary school students can learn directly from those in the business. There are also workshops for teachers, and occasional behind-the-scenes tours.

Let your inner performer take centre stage during a Naughty Noodle Fun Haus workshop, held at various venues across the Central Coast. Along with mini festivals and dance parties, Naughty Noodle occasionally runs workshops, including youth street dancing for LGBTQIA+, Indigenous adolescents and those with limited accessibility. Extroverts will love them, while they also provide a safe space for people to get out of their comfort zone.

If you have a sweet tooth, you won’t want to miss joining one of The Factory’s fabulous chocolatier workshops. There are three-hour hands-on workshops for adults, during which you’ll learn how to temper chocolate and make truffles. Kids don’t miss out though, with fun hour-long workshops for 5- to 14-year-olds. It’s not a bad way to spend the school holidays.

Learn the craft of making award-winning cheese at the Central Coast’s popular Little Creek Cheese, Wyong. The owners of the artisan cheese factory have made a big name for themselves over the past eight years and are happy to share some of their secrets as they teach you how to make ricotta and paneer.

A great way to spend some time with your friends is at a Pinot & Picasso painting workshop in Erina. In small groups, you paint fun designs ranging from interpretations of classics to pop culture. There are even kids-only workshops where they can meet like-minded creative souls during school holidays. No painting experience is necessary.

Celebrate a special occasion by getting a bunch of your favourite people together to create flower crowns. The Flower Creative runs Central Coast workshops where they’ll come to you, making it a great activity during hen's weekends or milestone birthdays, or simply just because. You have a choice of using fresh or dried flowers in the two-hour workshops, which also include all of the materials and tools.

If you are keen to learn a new skill, Artisan Estate's Blacksmithing workshop is for you. It's a unique way to experience an ancient art and make something by hand to treasure. There are three blacksmithing courses to choose from beginner to advance workshops where you can forge a variety of items such as bottle openers, keyrings and a chef knives. Taught by an experienced Blacksmith, this is a fun gift to give, or a workshop to do yourself.
