Australia Walkabout Wildlife Park

Meet native Australian wildlife on Heritage-listed bushland

The Australia Walkabout Wildlife Park is a working wildlife sanctuary located in Calga, on the Central Coast hinterland of New South Wales. Our ranger team believe in conservation through education, as we care for and protect hundreds of rescued, orphaned, unreleasable, disabled and retired animals every year, as well as help protect the many wild animals living in our 180 acres of natural Aussie bushland. Our sanctuary is located on Heritage-listed Aboriginal cultural landscape, with bushwalks available to see some of the important, protected sites for our local indigenous communities.

We invite you to meet our amazingly diverse community of animals - many rescued, endangered or vulnerable - who all call Walkabout Wildlife Park home:

  • Koalas
  • Wombats
  • Echidna
  • Free-roaming Kangaroos, Wallabies, Wallaroo and more macropods.
  • Free-roaming Emu (Happy Feet will probably introduce himself when you're having lunch)

  • Bilbies
  • Sugar Gliders
  • Quolls
  • Possums

Walkabout Wildlife Sanctuary is sacred Aboriginal Country.

Ancient traditions and culture are written into the Calga landscape. Please walk gently and respectfully when visiting, and never harm or take anything from the land. When we walk on this Country, we do so with the utmost respect for the Original Custodians of this Place, the Ancestors and Elders, and all First Nations people of past, present and future generations.
