Somersby Falls

Brisbane Water National Park

A great place to picnic on the Central Coast, Somersby Falls offers barbecues and picnic tables with lush rainforest surroundings, complete with waterfalls and a short, scenic walking track. This is a popular spot for swimming in the shallow pools in summer, or catching the cascades in full flow following a few days of rain.

Try the Somersby Falls walking track - a 500m return walk through rainforest that takes in views of the top and bottom waterfalls. The walk is steep and slippery in places, so keep an eye on the kids as they walk along the track.

Disability access level - Medium

Wheelchair accessible toilets are available. Picnic tables are located along stone pathways or relatively flat grassy areas. A stone pathway leads to the edge of Floods creek, just before it descends over the first waterfall and provides views of the creek.

Note for visitors

Somersby Falls area can be extremely busy on weekends and during school holidays. It can be difficult to find parking and maintain 1.5m physical distancing at the picnic areas or on the walking track.

Please visit before 10am or after 3pm to avoid crowds. You might like to visit nearby Girrakool picnic area and walking track which also has waterfalls, walking tracks, and a larger picnic area.

9am - 8pm (daylight savings time) or 5pm at all other times
