Tallow Beach

Tallow Beach is located at Box Head and is a great spot for swimming, surfing, fishing and walking. You can camp just metres from the sand at the Tallow Beach Campground, go to sleep and wake up to the sounds of the ocean.

PLEASE NOTE: Tallow Beach is not patrolled by lifeguards.

PLEASE NOTE: TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF HAWKES HEAD DRIVE FOR ESSENTIAL ROADWORKS 
Road works are expected to start the week of 16th February 2026 and continue for 8 weeks (weather permitting) with contractors operating between 7am - 5pm Monday to Fridays. Hawke Head Drive will be closed to public access (both vehicle and pedestrian) for the duration of construction, including weekends, to ensure visitor safety around machinery and active work zones.

• Flannel Flower Track, Box Head Track and Tallow Beach Trail will remain open during the road works. However, Park visitors wishing to access these trails will need to do by accessing Bouddi National Park via the Lobster Beach Track/ Pretty Beach right of way.
• Tallow Beach Campground will closed to campers for the duration of the works.
