Pearl Beach Arboretum

Crommelin Native Arboretum at Pearl Beach is a native bushland area of 5.5 hectares

The Pearl Beach Arboretum is a beautiful bushland area on the Central Coast of Australia, located at the western end of Crystal Avenue, Pearl Beach. It is open to the public, with accessible pathways, cottage for hire and parking for several cars. You can explore, relax, have a picnic, read a book, or spot native wildlife. The Arboretum is the perfect place for a relatively level 20 minute meander through the bush.

The Arboretum, established in Pearl Beach since 1976, is a natural botanic garden open to the public for free. Our Arboretum is a sanctuary for rare and threatened plant species, spanning 5.5 hectares of land in the Pearl Beach community. Sorry no domestic animals, fires, BBQs or smoking are allowed in the Arboretum except with special permission

We also host musical events, art events and weddings.

As a protected sanctuary for Australian wildlife you’ll notice the bush is alive with the sound of its residents. Spot regular species including:

  • Lyre birds
  • Bowerbirds
  • Fairy wrens
  • Water Dragons
  • Swamp Wallaby
  • Ringtail Possums
  • Eastern Pygmy Possums
  • Sugar Gliders
  • Bandicoots
  • Tawny Frogmouth
  • Quoll
  • Glossy Black Cockatoo

The Arboretum hosts a variety of educational events, annual live Opera, and is a popular bush wedding venue with iconic photos under the boughs of our Angophora costata – the “Wedding Tree”.

We want both people and local wildlife to visit our unique sanctuary and feel safe, calm and connected to nature. Our Committee invite you to escape the city and surround yourself with Australian flora and fauna. Please note no dogs, ball games or no drones are permitted in the Arboretum. Bicycles can be wheeled through but not ridden due to our narrow bush tracks.

For more information on events, trails and projects - visit the Pearl Beach Arboretum website.

The Arboretum is open during daylight hours all year.

No public toilets available (except during booked events).
