Bouddi National Park

Explore the wild with beaches, clifftops, rainforest, camp spots and heathland at your feet.

The beautiful Bouddi National Park on the Central Coast offers spectacularly diverse landscapes, plus the popular Bouddi Coastal Walk and annual Bouddi Trail Run event. Bouddi National Park is located on the Bouddi Peninsula, near Woy Woy (serviced by a Sydney-Newcastle train line). Once you arrive by car, rail, bus, bike or ferry, you'll have a choice of several great, scenic walks as well as opportunities for camping, cycling, swimming, fishing and whale watching.

Explore Bouddi National Park to experience:

  • One of Australia’s first marine protected areas
  • Significant Aboriginal sites (guided tours available)
  • Unique animals and plant life
  • An old paddle steamer shipwreck
  • Camping by the ocean
  • Whale watching season from key lookouts
  • A panoramic view to Sydney's Northern Beaches and beyond
  • 10km of mountain biking trails

Make the most of the park’s coastal location and camp beside the tranquil Maitland Bay, Putty Beach, or rural Tallow Beach campground. Take in sweeping views from the Box Head hiking track. Whale watch from Gerrin Point lookout, one of the region's most amazing viewpoints. Cycle to the Alex Strom lookout. Or spot bearded dragons lazing in the summer sun along the Bouddi Coastal Walk as it tours hikers through ever-changing scenery.

Bouddi Coastal Walk – 8.5km one way

The Bouddi Coastal Walk is one of the most beautiful walks on the Central Coast and is not for the faint-hearted, but the benefits are well worth it. Starting at either Putty Beach or Macmasters Beach, you will experience sweeping ocean views, cliff-side boardwalks, cool and shady rainforest, relaxing picnic spots and the opportunity to spot migrating whales from some of the amazing vantage points. For more information on this incredibly scenic walk, visit the National Parks website.
