Grey Nomad Awards

  • Aimed at shining a light on regional Australia and supporting positive ageing through adventure and social inclusion
  • 12 categories to enter, including caravan and tourist parks, attractions, tour operators, farms, distilleries and more  
  • Submissions close 14 Nov

 

NSW Tourism Awards

  • Businesses operating in the NSW visitor economy are encouraged to enter the 2022 NSW Tourism Awards, which are managed by the NSW Tourism Industry Council in partnership with Destination NSW.
  • The NSW Tourism Awards recognise winners in 27 business categories, two individual excellence categories and the Judges’ Tourism Star Awards to honour outstanding resilience and innovation.
  • Why enter? Be recognised by industry peers and raise your reputation, benchmark against your competitors, review your business goals and achievements and strengthen staff morale and team spirit. 
  • Applications close 15 June and submissions are due 24 August.

 

Grant / funding opportunities - 

Export Market Development Grants (EMDG)

  • Funded by - Australian Government
  • Aimed at helping Australian businesses grow their exports in international markets, by encouraging small to medium enterprises to market and promote their goods and services globally
  • Grants are available in three tiers - Ready to export, Exporting and expanding, Exporting, expanding and strategic shift
  • EMDG round two opens 6 July 2022 and closes 17 August 2022

 

Electronic Vehicle (EV) destination charging grants

  • Funded by - NSW Government
  • $20 million in grants to establish Australia’s largest destination charging network and support regional tourism
  • Investment in EV charging by your business will attract new visitors to your site, enhance your visitors’ experience, increase the average length of time visitors spend at your site, enable you to promote your location and EV charging facilities through online charging maps, future EV tourist drives, and word of mouth
  • Round one of funding opens 23 May 2022 

 

Second Round - Indigenous Tourism Grants

  • Funded by - the Australian Govt
  • Indigenous-owned businesses may be eligible for up to $100,000
  • Aims to increase the number of Indigenous-owned tourism products by supporting Indigenous-owned tourism businesses and Indigenous-owned community organisations to plan for or grow their tourism businesses 
  • Applications close 12 July 2022

 

Regional Events Acceleration Fund (REAF) - Round Two

  • Funded by - NSW Government
  • Additional $20 million to help bring new major sporting, lifestyle, food, music, art and cultural events to regional NSW
  • Three streams available - Stream 1: Major Event Enhancement; Stream 2: Major Event Attraction; Stream 3: Major Event Accessibility& Inclusion (must be applied for in conjunction with Stream 1 or Stream 2)
  • Events must take place between 01 July 2022 - 30 June 2023
  • Applications open 18 March 2022 and close 4 October 2022, or when funding is fully committed

 

NSW Regional Business Event Development Fund

  • Funded by - NSW Government.
  • Grants from $15k to $30k to create, attract and support business events for regional NSW.
  • Applications close 01 June 2022 or when funds have been expended.

 

Event Saver

  • Funded by - NSW Government.
  • Providing financial support to organisers of Major Events scheduled to be held between 15 December 2021 and 31 December 2022 where an event is cancelled or Significantly disrupted as a direct result of Public Health Orders (PHO)
  • Stage One Expressions of Interest are now open and close 30 September 2022. Event organisers are encouraged to submit their expression of interest as soon as possible. Note that organisers for events scheduled from 30 April 2022 must submit their EOI at least 90 days prior to the event.

 

Destination NSW: Regional Event Fund

  • Funded by - NSW Government.
  • $1.5 million to support new and flagship regional events that have the potential to act as flagship tourism events for their area. Three streams available - Incubator Event stream (now closed), Flagship Event stream (now closed) & Event Development stream.
  • Applications for the Event Development stream remain open until available funds are exhausted.
