On Sunday morning, we begin with a grounding moment: a short silent Quaker Meeting to set the tone for deep listening and shared purpose. From there, we’ll unpack the fascinating evolution of Sociocracy—from its origins in Quaker values and a Dutch electrical factory, to global communities like Findhorn and right here at Narara Ecovillage.
You’ll journey through the “roots” of this governance model and see how it has adapted and thrived over time. Then, get hands-on with “shoots”—putting theory into practice through engaging role play, reflection and facilitated discussion.
This session is hosted by Scilla Sayer, a long-time community member and changemaker committed to “bringing forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just human presence on this planet.”
This is just one of many unique experiences during the Narara Ecovillage Open Weekend, where community life and regenerative living take centre stage.
