Salt & Pepperberry - The Lakes Festival

Taste the Waterways like never before!

Get ready for an unforgettable culinary journey! Salt & Pepperberry is a unique, nine-day event happening during The Lakes Festival, offering an immersive, six-course native degustation experience celebrating First Nation culture, cuisine, and the deep connection to the waterways.

What to Expect

For $100 per person, your ticket is your passport to a rich cultural and culinary adventure:

  • A Unique 6-Course Degustation: Indulge in a modern, innovative menu featuring exquisite native Australian ingredients like Kunzea, Aniseed Myrtle, Pepperberry, and Wattleseed.
  • A Journey into Culture: The experience begins with a traditional Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony. Throughout your meal, you'll be entertained and educated by First Nation storytellers and performers sharing traditional knowledge and cultural practices.
  • Interactive Learning: Engage in a short, hands-on Cultural Workshop before your meal to learn about the history and significance of native foods in First Nation culture.
  • Meet the Chef: You'll have the chance to participate in a Q&A with the chef to learn about the inspiration behind the dishes and the unique properties of the native ingredients. This is more than just a meal; it's an opportunity to educate attendees about First Nation culture, history, and sustainable food practices while promoting the Central Coast as a destination for cultural tourism.
