Lonnie Lee - 1959 When Rock Broke The Sound Barrier

Lonnie Lee, The 'Last Man Standing' from his era with his audio visual event '1959' his story as 'rock breaks the sound barrier'

In 1956 at the very start of Rock'n'Roll, a young country boy stood on stage alone with his guitar, no band, just him, introducing Rockabilly to Australian audiences. Now 68 years later, his iconic career has come full circle. As the last record superstar from his era still on stage, he once again is alone. The Leemen whilst not seen, are heard on his own amazing tracks.

After all these years, Lonnie has taken a new exciting direction for his career which focuses on that magic year of 1959, when Rock'n'Roll exploded across the world. With amazing audio visual highlights from his entire career to accompany him singing his own Gold hits as well as legendary hits of his friends, the same excitement will emanate from the stage as it always has from a Lonnie Lee show. The tracks he sings to bring back the same excitement they did back in the day.

One of the features in the show is when he talks about and sings an amazing song he wrote for Roy Orbison called 'Rain', which in the 1970's, Roy told him it would be his next #1 single.
