Woy Woy Fishermen's Wharf

Woy Woy Fishermen’s Wharf has been in the Cregan-Clayton family since the mid-1970s. It started its life as Taylor’s Boat Shed, but the family took over the shed and started selling seafood.

Sam Clayton is the latest family member to join the business and continue the legacy with a major renovation of the space in late 2017.

“The Wharf has always been a family business, it started with my grandparents when they bought Tayler’s Boat Shed and started selling seafood. In the 1980’s my parents took over and added the restaurant. From there, it has evolved organically over the years.”

Woy Woy Fishermen’s Wharf is now an award-winning Central Coast icon. Enjoy waterfront seafood dining in the stunning restaurant or grab some takeaway and enjoy somewhere along the foreshore.

Sam grew up in Woy Woy, and moved away to Sydney to start his career, but the call of the Central Coast had him moving his wife and children back to join the family business.

“There is a quietness to the Central Coast that you don’t get in the city, but there’s still enough going on for you to feel as if you have a full life. Woy Woy has always been home. I love everything about living here from the environment to living on the water.”

“Woy Woy offers so many things that make it a great place to live and visit. It offers beautiful places to see and it’s easily accessible with three methods of transport; car, rail and ferry. And, there are great schools for my kids.”

As for doing business on the Central Coast Sam has some great reasons to consider setting up shop here.

“The Central Coast is a very welcoming environment to set up a business. It has a supportive community of business owners. There’s less of a feeling of competition. We all work together to build a scene and expand culturally, because if there’s lots to do and everyone is prospering then it’s an environment that people want to visit.”
