The rainy day guide to indoor activities on the Central Coast
Rail, hail or shine there are plenty of wet weather activities to keep you on dry on the Central Coast on a rainy day.
Whether you're after some putting practice, or a vivid virtual reality experience, this little list is full of some heavy hitters to keep your adrenaline pumping rain, hail or La Nina.
Sometimes you can’t beat the elements and when the forecast says rain, fear not, the Central Coast has heaps of fun things to do inside for the big kids in all of us.

The roads might be slippery when it's wet outside, but nothing can rain on your parade if you take your wheels indoors at Kartatak Raceway. This Central Coast go-kart track is the only one of its kind in Australia which is specifically designed for drifting, taking these corners at speed will have your heart racing in no time.
From skateboarders to scooter lovers and BMX bandits to roller-bladders this skate park has everything except wet weather cancellations, Slam Factory is Australia's longest running indoor skatepark and has been pumping adreniline through skaters veins since 2001.
Have a baller of a time
If golf is your game the Central Coast has some good times in store for you no matter the weather. Hone your crazy golf skills and master elaborate obstacle courses and sink the ball in the hole at Hole in Fun at Lisarow's new indoor mini gold curse. Or, get ready to play some of the best courses in the world without leaving the Central Coast at FOREplay Golf, if you need some liquid courage you can also take advantage of the fully licensed lounge bar.

Ride a roller coaster or a rocket ship from the comfort of the Central Coast at the Central Coast Virtual Reality at Erina or The Entrance. This high-quality interactive virtual reality experience will help you turn wet weather days into sunny summer weekends. Or use your brains to solve puzzles and challenges in the immersive virtual environments in the escape rooms.
Throw yourself into the excitement of a full-throttle laser tag game at Laser Mania where lasers and laughter are the aims of the game. This intense game of tag will take you right back to the schoolyard and all the running, jumping, and rolling will help you warm right up on a chilly day outside.
Eco warriors
Kids and adults alike will love the eco certified Central Coast Marine Discovery Centre at Terrigal that focuses on educating you on the sea life that live in our oceans. Reach into the interactive artificial reef to get a closer look at the marine creatures, explore the fascinating exhibits including the sinking of the HMAS Adelaide now an artificial reef that is home to many fish and colourful coral. Kids can become a junior marine biologist for day looking through microscopes and doing quizzes to gain a certificate! Obverse the daily fish feeding and afterwards enjoy organic coffee and something tasty to eat from the all day menu at Parklife Coffee next door.
Stay cool on a rainy day
We can't promise you won't get wet if you fall but a session on at Erina Ice Arena, the indoor ice rink is so much fun! With a public sessions, playgroup and coffee time sessions, plus plenty of afternoon skate school lessons, it’s a great way to find your balance on a rainy day. For those who aren't so keen to get in the ice, catch an ice hockey game or you might be lucky enough to watch international figure skaters competing too.
Be among the stars indoors
From comedy stand up, live theatre performance, family friendly plays, and music and dance renditions, catching a show is always a fun and the Central Coast theatre scene is a perfect option to escape the wet weather. Take a look at what’s on at the Laycock Street Community Theatre at Wyoming and The Art House in Wyong.
For movie lovers, sit back with a choc top and popcorn in hand ready to watch your favourite iconic movie, the latest Hollywood blockbuster or take a trip down memory lane with a golden oldie. You can't go past Avoca Beach Theatre, The Savoy and Cinema Paradiso.
Dancing, music and fun
Wash the wet weather blues away with fun, vibrant and energetic creative performances at Funhaus Factory. Take in a show, some cabaret, a live band and celebrate self-expression and diversity.
Staying in Gosford, the waterfront venue Drifters Wharf hosts a beautiful setting for dinner as well as a busy schedule of iconic bands, gigs and themed nights allowing you to have a boogie at a lively indoor venue.
Time for you
An afternoon of finger sandwiches, fluffy scones and a glass of bubbles, can drown out any sorrows the wet weather may be causing. Lucky the Central Coast has a host of venues offering a delicious way to spend time with friends and loved ones. The Pantry, Daleys Kitchen, Crowne Plaza and Kew Dining are just a few places that offer a delicious high tea.
Another lovely way to get out of the rain is indulging in being pampered with luxury products, blissful aromatherapy massage and a space to relax. Frustrated that it just won't stop raining, take out some of these big feelings on some inanimate objects and blow off some steam. To be fair you might need to get wet by way of a shower after you spend some time at Smash You the Central Coast's first and only Smash & Splatter Room.
