An exhibition by thirteen members of The Makers Studio a Central Coast arts group.
The exhibition is in part a response to the National Gallery of Australia’s ‘Know My Name’ project showcasing the art of historical and contemporary women artists whose exceptional works have rarely been exhibited. The Makers Studio seeks to contribute to the ongoing debate and need for change in the art world to ensure women are equally represented.
Through My Eyes offers thirteen diverse female perspectives of domestic, environmental and global settings. The prints, paintings and textiles each explore the act of ‘seeing’ and the basic human desire to ‘be seen’ as equals.
