Based on the Central Coast, Gillian has exhibited for over 20 years in Australia and in Japan. Her practice spans across sculpture, paintings, drawing, installation, photography, and public art.
Super Bloom highlights resilience, strength, playfulness, beauty, and hope in the face of hardship as we came to terms with living in the COVID-19 pandemic and our new reality. The name comes from a rare phenomenon where wildflowers in the desert bloom all at once after a long period of drought.
As an artist, Gillian identifies that her role is to absorb, filter and reshape thoughts and emotions into a solid form, this practice taking up to a year.
